Glad I read this thread, I've just received a PARKING CHARGE letter from National Parking Control (based in Manchester) for a ticket. I had typed up and printed off my 1st response letter (using the templates given on here) but it looks like I should simply ignore it now, is that correct?

My 52 Plate TDCi Mondeo has just started doing the same thing, wouldn't start last night & had the Flashing Glowplug light, then once it did start it died (whilst doing 70 on the motorway!!).

If/when they overlap their 40 day deadline, complain to the ICO about them.

If they miss the 40 day dealine lodge a complaint against them with the Information Commissioner's Office. Things tend to move on a bit quicker after that...

As far as I'm aware - and if I'm wrong someone will surely correct me! - you are living in England so you are under English law. It doesn't matter that you're Scottish, you're resident in England. So the limit in the Small Claims is £5000 and you can go back 6 years, hooray Make sure you send your letters to the bank's English address which I think is Halifax, Yorks. Good luck.
