  1. Hi Folks, Been disputing a debt with Cabot for some time and eventually it has been issued as a claim to which I have responded as per the guidance in the forum. Very helpful thank you. So back in December 2018 I filled out my AOC and then 31CPR and then my Defence. Today I received a letter from Cabot chasing the debt asking me to pay, are they allowed to send me a letter to collect when it has now been escalated to a court case? Where do I stand? Any thoughts, guidance, greatly and warmly received. Thanks.

  3. Dispute with them over incorrect data held by them so asked for SAR of everything they have. their legal dept bod said "we dont have to supply information that is 2 years old as you couldnt do a SAR until they brought in the GDPR last year". I asked if they had heard about the Data Protection Act and they said yes, we had to protect your data so you cant have it. I have now transferred to another supplier.

  5. We done an income and expenditure which showed be can pay the arrears over the term of the mortgage. judge agreed it was fine......also said if we get into difficulties in the future and mortgage company won’t listen, we should go back to court and he’d do his best to amend it for us.

  6. If I get unsolicited letters like this with a pre-paid envelope, I stuff them with junk mail and send it back to them. Petty? Yes. Satisfying? Oh yes!

  11. I too had dealings with Cabot regarding an old credit card debt. With the help of this site and various others I managed to fight them off. It seems that they specialize in buying up old debts that have done the rounds and nobody has got anything from. They then come on heavy with court dates and summonses. What they don't have ar the original documents like the original contract, terms and conditions that were valid at the time of the CC being taken out. All they have are some bad photocopies that they have hashed together in the office hoping that these will frighten you into paying. That is the secret of their
