  1. I believe that when the debt is sold to a DCA the balance will show as Zero. The OC default information and CRA listing will then be taken over by the new owner of the debt in your case Lowell's. However only the original default date from M&S is the one which should be listed by Lowell's they can not list a new default date. However they often do and put this down as "an administration error". So always check.

  4. I have noticed in the past that the Vodaphone CAG member is very useful in sorting out problems with them. Do we have the same for Orange? An Orange rep who is a member? I have a default on my credit account with Orange dating back to 2006. I was moving overseas and received a final bill from Orange for the amount of something like £60 - I sent a cheque which cleared and then moved overseas thinking all was fine and that was the end off it. Go forward 2 years to 2008 and I move back to the UK check my credit file and there we are - a default for the amount of £20 owed to Orange. I had mistakenly written the wrong amount on the final cheque (I was stressed at that time sorting everything out to move overseas) which left £20 owing. I now have a default for the measly sum of £20. To make things worse I paid this off at the beginning of 2009 which I am led to believe means I now have it on my credit history until 2015. Other than this my credit score is in the 900's but I still get turned down for pretty much any credit I apply for. Can anyone suggest what I can do? I have written to Orange but they refused to remove it.

  5. In a recent case not dissimilar to Huggys a well known bank claimed that the ''System'' will only allow ''whole pounds'' to be paid/transferred so over xx plus 50 pence it's rounded up xx plus 49 pence the figure is rounded down so it's all ok:?:
