Yes as nystagmite says, you were advised wrongly, if you stop claiming income based JSA, all you would need to do is inform the council of the change and provide details of your household income and savings and your claim will be reassessed on that basis. Also if your wife is working 16 hours a week you may qualify for working tax credits as a couple (dependant on age and other circumstances).

  3. Income based JSA gives you automatic entitlement to housing benefit. You don't need to be receiving income based benefits to receive housing benefit.

Hi banks I have a cc debt with Barks who sent it to a company called Credit Solutions LTD ( CSL) adress is in Purley, surrey the first letter we received was worded almost exactly the same as yours, so I am wondering if they may be the same mob I have complained to oft about the tone of the letters and the amount of calls they are making, some times 3 a day, must be when they bored imho i would continue along the same path as before Mrs witts

No I think that's called fraud - if someone buys and sells 3 necklaces a week while on benefits and claims it was to wear them once, no one is ever going to believe they were purchased as personal items. But you're talking about a pattern of buying AND selling. If you are just selling items you own already you can do that within the rules over whatever time period you like. Also any time you buy something for considerably less than you sell it for is going to raise alarms. And even if you buy one thing and sell it on for a profit - if that was the intention all along then selling that one thing is still trading - even if they try an
