  1. ? I expect them to write not call when they've been told NOT to call. I expect them to not call people's place of work; I expect them NOT to use intimidation or to misrepresent what can happen to the debtor. I expect them to READ letters and respond appropriately. I expect them to follow the law. If they can't enforce a debt because the financial institutions have not loaned it properly, I expect them to stop trying to enforce it. There would be many people on this site who would have negotiated payment plans however minimal years ago if financial institutions acted in a responsible and reasonable manner at the outset when they were advised o

  2. Heres a few night time reading websites for you. As well as the Lending standards Code, lenders must at all times follow the Consumer Credit Act, the Equality Act, and other legislation such as the Payment Services Regulations and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations.

  3. My advice is to contact your BC and sate that you would like an appointment to request a reconsideration at your local JCP office. They shoud then book you an AJCS (Accessing Jobcentre Customer Services) appointment where you can compose a written request for a reconsideration nd they can check the information either themselves or by contacting the BC directly for information (if you happen to get a non benefit trained person). The only thing I can think of at the momemt is that when you claims transferred they "fell off system" an had to be rebuilt and someone hasn't maintained the notes very well (sorry to say that trying to decipher the

  4. I have read this thread with care. To me this is unquestionably a case of theft. It matters not whether the vehicle was taxed as far as this scrap man is concerned. It is his legal duty to ensure that the person selling or giving him the car has good title themselves. Otherwise, I could stand outside Currys and say 'help yourselves toMY televisons'. Of course, each poerson who did so would be guity of theft as I had no title to Currys televisons and thus could not pass title to them. The police are wrong and this case must be investigated for what it is. It does not matter if the scrap man thought this or that, the FACT is that the car w

  5. Ignore and do not contact them at all as this proceedure will limit the amount of junk mail they send. They will not take you to court as they are well aware the outcome will go against them and the whole system is based on scaring you with there silly bits of paper dressed up to look like official council or police PCN's / FPN's. All you have is an invoice nothing more and nothing less and totally unenforceable The correspondence will continue and will get scarier as they will use red ink and even capital letters but this does not make them anything more than the tear off sheets of paper found in toilets There will be bits of

  6. Just to add to what others have said, there are a few things which I'd like to point out - it may help your children's father and his parents. Being declared bankrupt would not neccesserily have a negative affect on the position of a civil servant, and certainly not if the civil servant has no has access to public funds. Where the civil servant does have access to public funds, the option is often available for him to be relocated to another position which does not involve access to funds. It used to be the case that bankruptcy meant the end of a job for a civil servant, irrelevant of what position they held but that hasn't been

  7. The more detail you give about this, the more obvious it is a criminal matter in my opinion. If you attend a police station and report a crime, then as far as I know, the police are obliged to investigate and in your case clearly they havn't. If I were you, I would attend the police station and insist on speaking to the duty inspector. If that fails, i think I would be asking my local MP it get involved. I say this is not a civil matter but I would be interested on other opinions. Please Note The advice I offer will be based on the information given by the person needing it. All my advice is based on my experiences and kn
