  2. Excellent news. I hate having to advise people to go to court as it really can be a hassle, so it is great to hear of a situation being sorted without court action.

  3. Hi Lee, I've made a few tweaks as shown in red. Also moved the para about the court manager's response. I've dropped the comments about using a consumer group website - some judges seem to look down upon the internet as a poor substitute compared to their knowledge and experience. Good luck with this.

  6. This is a company called Complete Credit Management Ltd., formerly called The Litigation Services Company but changed in 2004. The physical address the company is registered at (which should, under the Companies Act 2006, be shown on all stationary) is: OLD DOCKS HOUSE 90 WATERY LANE ASHTON-ON-RIBBLE PRESTON LANCASHIRE PR2 1AU - the same as RMA/NCO. However, Complete Credit Management/The Litigation Services Company are registered with ICO and on the OFT database with a different address: 2297 Coventry Road Birmingham B26 3PU ...which happens to be the address of the head office of Severn Trent Wate

  8. Next time your out a walk with the pooch and meet other walkers from your area, just ask them which vet they use. Im very surprised that you havent been asked to collect a urine sample either to back up the blood sugar sample. that is the usual for diabetes. It also causes the pooches to drink lots and pee lots as well. Diet will not sort out any Blood sugar problems alone, you need medication along with it. The food you get from the vet is very expensive and the vet is probably on a commission to sell as much as possible. There is a post in the Pets & Vets tthread that someone has posted about presciption cha

Remember, they have to prove you owe the debt & if no payments made in last 6yrs, it'll be statute barred anyway Dear Sir/Madam Account Number: xxxxxx You have contacted me regarding the account with the above reference number, which you claim is owed by myself. I would point out that I have no knowledge of any such debt being owed to xxxxxx. I am familiar with the CPUTR 2008 and the Office of Fair Trading's Guidance on debt collection, which states that it unfair to send demands for payment to an individual when it is uncertain that they are the debtor in questio

  13. HI JK and welcome to Cag Discontinuance and subsequent proceedings 38.7 A claimant who discontinues a claim needs the permission of the court to make another claim against the same defendant if – (a) he discontinued the claim after the defendant filed a defence; and (b) the other claim arises out of facts which are the same or substantially the same as those relating to the discontinued claim. I think that covers it:wink: They may assign it as many times as they wish but they cant enforce it Regards Andy

  14. Hi Sunflower, Sorry to hear about your dog. How old is he? Trouble is the liver problems will be complicating matters, making it difficult for him to digest fat, so both that and the high BS can cause weight loss in their own right. I'd definitely get a second opinion on management, even if it's a case of seeing a different vet in the practice, expressing concern that he is still losing weight on that diet, and ask if there is any other treatment or "safe" treats he have in addition to keep his weight stable. Prescription vet food is very pricey! Elsa x

I am hoping to get the claim form into the court this afternoon, but have one last (I hope!) query - On the N1 itself, there is a place on the first page entitled 'Value' where I assume I put the following - Charges £**** Associated overdraft interest charges £**** Interest under s.69 County Courts Act 1984 £**** Court Fee £**** Total £**** But on the right hand side at the bottom of the first page there is a box with - Amount claimed £ Court Fee £ Solicitor's costs £ Total amount £

  19. The term "wasted costs" is a bit confusing, these are not unnecessary costs, as the term may imply, but where the other side's representative has behaved in such a way that the court orders him or her to pay these personally on an indemnity basis. Such orders are very rare. When a party discontinues an action they started, as this in this case, the other side is normally entitled to standard costs. For a litigant in person this is at a rate of £9.25 per hour plus any direct expenses paid out in connection with the case. In the first instance you just need to write a brief letter explaining what these are inviting him to pay wi

For who but I shall see you lie, Each night in fireglow? And who but I can reach my hand Before we go to bed, And feel the living warmth of you And touch your silken head? And only I walk woodland paths, And see, ahead of me, Your small form racing with the wind, So young again, and free. And only I can see you swim In every brook I pass. And when I call, no-one but I Can see the bending grass. ********************************* Rainbow

  22. Hi Edward. Maroondevo has asked me to look in on this thread in regard to benefits. In respect of JSA, what you receive will depend upon a number of factors. If you have paid enough class 1 National Insurance contributions in the tax years 06/07 and 07/08 you will qualify for contribution based JSA and receive receive £64.30 per week as a single claimant. If you are part of a couple, you will receive £100.95 per week. If you have not paid the required amount of national insurance contributions, your JSA claim will be income based and though the weekly amounts are still £64.30 single person and £100.95 for a couple, this can be affe

  23. So now that you know there has been a repair, you can see it all the time. It has devalued the car and as it wasn't mentioned, you have paid the 'immaculate' price. Have a look in yellow pages for a body specialist and get a quote to repair/replace the bonnet and ask him if he can have a look for any other damage/repair, he might charge a few quid. If you don't do this now, you might regret it at some future point because you don't know exactly what you are driving, and you can bet your life that when you trade it in somewhere, they will notice it and only pay what it is worth. When you are armed with some facts, beit just the

  27. Lowells are bottom-feeders in the debt collection world who waste a large quantity of paper each day writing inane threatening letters and certainly aren't worth losing any sleep over. They buy impaired accounts that have been written off by the original creditor, normally for less than 10% of their face value and then try and collect the full amount on these whether they are enforceable or not (usually not) by sending a series of threatening letters under various different trading names including, Lowell Portfolio 1, Lowell Financial, Red Collections and Hamptons Legal. These are all the same organisation and despite the implication
