  1. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't "knocking" it, in fact generally I think it's a great idea but in the context of things I just thought it was a little bit strange to give points just for being here! It's not an idea I have come acroos before, but i can see the potential benefits.

  2. It seeme to work well on other sites that I post on. I think at the moment people have not got enough points themselves to make any difference when they add to peoples reputation. I think that as people use the system it will change and give a more accurate picture of who is giving good advice. Maybe the mods, who tend to pick up more points, could give out to those who are giving good advice to "seed" the process.

  3. Hey, I feel for you! I used to work for a flagship London branch of the Halifax (not so long ago) and can tell you that the management hold all the authority. The last thing the bank wants to do is reverse a charge applied. Each branch operates much like it's own business so it reflects badly on a branch that reverses a lot of charges. I used to see this sort of problem all the time, and to some degree, treated it like sport, getting the irate customer to get lost!! You're likely to get nowhere talking to a 'Receptionist', 'Banking Hall Manager', 'Customer Advisor' or anyone else bar the Branch Manager. They'll cower behind s

  4. To add my two pence worth, (or my one pence cheque!), I feel that Stephen has given consumers hope against corporate theft that we just put up with because 'it's legal, check our T& C's...' If it wasn't for the community that has come together on this site, I doubt there would be so many people challenging the 'status quo' on so called fair charges. I know I was looking into my own bank hell, but didn't realise there was actually anything legally I could do until I found a press release somewhere on Google about Stephen, which led me to this site... Thank You to EVERYONE for helping each other:D

  5. Hi Angelstar, I was reading your notes a few days ago and was hopingthat you wouldnt accept.....Congratulations. Excel steps :- Just type in each amount in a separate row under the AMOUNT column. Then under the the DATE INCURRED column type in the relevant date beside each individual amount using the format DD/MM/YYYY i.e. 11/04/2006. Once this is done take a look a look at teh new figures at teh bottom of teh AMOUNT column and to the right of teh DATE INCURRED Column that have automatically been calculated for you.
