Hi all

My Uncle has had a letter from Lowell saying they are acting for dollar finance. He had a fair few different pay day loans in the past and thinks this is probably to do with the Money Shop.

If so he thinks he borrowed around £500 anywhere between 6 & 10 years ago. He has no clue what he has paid back as he has moved numerous times and has no paperwork. He thinks he was paying £1/month up until around a year ago or so.

Can anyone please assist with what his next steps should be please?

Thanks

Paul

i would suspect the letter does not state lowells are operating on behalf of xxxx client

but states no client at all and have purchased the debt from dollar finance?

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Dollar Financial ordered to repay £15.4m to customers | Payday loans | The Guardian

Pay them NOTHING!

If you check his credit file then this shouldn't be on there.

Did he get any refund at all do you know?

IMHO I'd ignore lowlifes less for them sending a claim, IF they are feeling brave and want to chance their arm.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

Thank you all for your replies. Sorry for the delay, I was waiting for him to get back to me.

The letters state:

Your outstanding accounts
Original company name   lowell ref        balance
Dollar financial             xxxxxxxxxxxx      xxxxxxx

He is getting quite worries as has had voicemails and also another letter
